Referrals and Consultation

GeoMemes has developed a Referrals Toolbox to assist communities track and process resource development referrals and support land resource management. The Referrals Toolbox (http://geomemes.com/referrals) can be either a standalone system, or it can be integrated into the larger Community Information System (http://geomemes.com/CIS).

The following sections describe the core of our Referrals Toolbox.

1. The Referrals Protocols Page includes:

  • A written description of your Referral Process;
  • Web-map of your traditional territory;
  • Attached Protocol Agreements in PDF format, and;
  • Link to "Submit a Referral" form

2. The "Submit a Referral" Forms include:

  • Applicant form;
  • Proposal form, having as many custom fields you need described about the proposed development (proponent info, government contact info, project description);
  • Location of the proposed project, collected using either
  • Shapefile upload;
  • Interactive web-map;
  • Attach documents of various types;
  • Basic error checking (Shapefile projection correct?, phone number format);
  • PDF generated and attached, and;
  • Automated response (email) following submission.

3. The Proponent Dashboard includes:

  • Common Actions block (Submit new referral), and;
  • My referrals list (sorted by new/active/old).

4. The Referral Report (for Proponents) includes:

  • Display of PUBLIC text fields (contact information, proposal information);
  • Location map;
  • Zoom map.
    5. Dashboard for Referrals Manager (internal to your First Nation) includes:
  • Common Actions block;
  • New referrals bin;
  • Processed referrals bin;
  • Completed referrals bin; and
  • Links to individual Project Reports.

6. The Referral Report (for your First Nation) includes:

  • Display of ALLfields (contact information, proposal information, internal fields), and;
  • Location map and Zoom map.

  • File management and parallel physical (paper) file management system

  • Advanced base map control - customize your base maps for any pages and dashboards
  • Manager statistics - at the click of a button, generate statistics in table form (for many variables, over any time period. e.g. number of current referrals, type, etc.)
  • Advanced search with results displayed in table or map form
  • Advanced workflow management – (e.g. "Please provide more information" emails)
  • Links to external data - e.g. GeoBC map layers (e.g. Reports generated by SQL queries against external WMS layers or database to database)
  • Field visit management system including uploading staff assignment, field photos
  • Proponent uploading additional digital spatial overlays
  • Scheduling, assigning and tracking of staff time / tasks on referrals
  • Produce referral response letters (and customize)
  • Automatic rating or analysis of referrals
